You will work out on a treadmill or stationary bike during a stress echocardiogram while your doctor keeps an eye on your blood pressure and heart rate. Additionally, if you're receiving cardiac rehabilitation, this test determines how much exercise you can tolerate safely. The results of the test can also be used to gauge how well various medical interventions, such as angioplasty, bypass surgery, and anti-anginal or antiarrhythmic drugs, work.
